Our story

The idea for Tim&Leon arose from two aspects: our love for our own pets and the
Frustration over the problems in the pet food market. Unclear labeling, poor quality, and a lack of sustainability are unfortunately often the reality.

What began as a project in a university course quickly developed into a passion project. Through intensive research, interviews with experts, and conversations with dog owners, it became clear to us: Sustainable change is urgently needed!

However, when searching for suitable suppliers, we found that no supplier could provide us with a product that was simultaneously sustainable, high-quality and 100% transparent.

So we reoriented ourselves – and came across the development of innovative proteins . After our initial discussions, it was clear to us: this forward-looking solution offers exactly what we are looking for. It allows us to develop products that we can stand behind with our name – hence the name Tim&Leon .

Why alternative proteins in pet food?

By 2050, the global
Food production is expected to increase by over 70% to feed both humans and animals. This means more factory farming, habitat destruction (e.g., rainforests), and emissions. One possible answer: an alternative.
Proteins.

Our natural fermented protein, for example, is over 95% more sustainable than animal proteins and 2-3 times more sustainable than plant proteins. This is made possible by a significantly more efficient production process based on a circular economy: agricultural byproducts are used to produce high-quality proteins from microorganisms with less water and land.

We transform these innovative proteins into healthy, delicious, and sustainable products – good for animals, people, and the planet. No bullshit.
